As-is
Handyman's special
Fixer upper
Needs love
Good personality
Misunderstood
Guaranteed not to work
Do you believe in truth in advertising? I do. Unfortunately, it seems that some of eBay does not. So we have lots of shady characters selling stuff they describe as "not sure if it works, so I'm selling as is." My favorites are things like "In retail box. We don't have time to check contents, so we're selling as-is." You get the box and...it's just an empty box." But I guess they didn't have time to check that...True story.

Anyway, I don't believe in playing games. Someone else did, and that's how I wound up with this receiver. At least if you buy it, you'll know what you're getting!
I'm going to come right out and call a horse a horse here: This receiver has seen much better days. Heck, I doubt it's seen much of anything in a long time 'cause it sure hasn't powered up in a month of Sundays.

This here, my friends, is what they call an ugly stepchild. This receiver doesn't work. The case is covered in scratches. Most of the screws that attach the case to the chassis have been removed (and are missing). And the fan assembly is missing from the back. Other than that, I guess maybe you could say that it's in "decent condition." At least, that's how the person who sold it to me described it. I am wondering if that was before or after the labotomy?!!

If you are not electrically inclined, don't even think of bidding on this. Trust me, it just isn't worth your time. If you are electrically inclined...well just how good are you? If you're a star...I think you might be able to bring this sad sack back to life.
Remember, only this auction is eligible for DrDap's iron clad money back guarantee:
IRON CLAD MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

If you buy this unit and it is fully functional when you get it, I will take it back, no questions asked, and issue you a full refund. (Shipping charges are non-refundable).
What you see...is what you get. Crap receiver? Check. Power cord? What...you see a power cord? Remote? Nope. Manual? You don't need no stinkin' manuals. (Well, maybe you need them, but you don't get them here). Connector cables? Connect THIS Bucko. Nope, you get the receiver, and that's IT.
Frequently asked questions:

Q. Is this a real auction?
A. Real 'R' than you'll ever be. Or in other words: Yes. And it's all over now Baby Blue.

Q. What if I bid a penny and I win. Will you ship?
A. Even though I don't even bend down to pick up pennies on the street, yes, I will ship to the high bidder, even if the high bid is a penny. If you are the high bidder, and your winning bid is a penny, please send a 1909-s-vdb, OK?

Q. The answers to two questions: Didn't you waste an awful amount of time generating this page? And wouldn't your time be better spent elsewhere?
A. Yes. And yes. Or if we are playing Jeopardy, What are yes and yes? And I'll take Stupid eBay Auctions for 200 Alec.

Q. Where have all the flowers gone?
A. Young girls have picked them. Every one.

The auction rules!
(Read me!)

Why must there always be rules? Don't ask me, ask your philosophy professor. But here be my rules for this auction. Read them, learn them, love them. There will be a test on Tuesday. Slide rules will be permitted.
  1. This receiver is sold as-is. No returns for any reason. You buy it, you own it. Have a good life.
  2. Buyer agrees to commence payment within 3 days of winning the auction. You may pay by PayPal (preferred) or else money order.
  3. Fixed rate shipping of $14.00 applies to sales within the Continental US. Sales outside the Continental US must contact me first for shipping costs. I won't ship this outside the US. I don't want to besmearch the reputation of this good country.

Buy with confidence (but cash preferred!)

Buy with confidence. I'm a longtime eBay PowerSeller with tons of positive feedback and...

Oh heck, come on, what's the difference here? Like I'm going to stiff you on this "dream" receiver. Get real. I will be most happy to get this hunkOjunk out of my house. You can buy with the utmost confidence that I will ship this receiver off with a smile on my face and (hopefully) enough in my pocket to buy a soda.
Let's be serious for a moment...

'Ok, but really. I am a star electrician.' (No modesty, eh? Well, good for you). 'Is it complete inside? Is there anything obviously wrong? (With the machine, not with you...er, of course there's nothing wrong with YOU). Is this really just landfill waiting to happen, or might I be buying a sheep in wolf's clothing?'
Just for you, Mr. or Ms. "I can fix ANYTHING," a nice picture of the insides. As you can see, they look pretty good. In fact, they look REALLY good, maybe even SCARILY good compared to the outside. I don't see anything obviously missing, other than some hold-down screws and the fan assembly (I have a good working version of this receiver for comparison). So strap on your voltimeter, heat up your soldering iron, and you just may be the next contestent on...The Price is Right. Though more likely you must may be able to fix this.

Note that just because I think you may be able to fix it does not mean I guarantee you will. Nor does the fact that I think everything is there mean I guarantee as much. For the purposes here, I am an idiot savant just reporting what I see.
